Project: Lake Mulwala Drainage
Scope: Remediation of existing stormwater infrastructure at Lake Mulwala to rectify a drainage design deficiency and improve long-term performance.

Remediation of existing stormwater infrastructure at Lake Mulwala to rectify a drainage design deficiency and improve long-term performance.
Scope included extension of an existing 1800mm diameter drainage pipeline to achieve the required outlet location, construction of an associated headwall, backfilling, and reinstatement of the lakeshore upon completion of works.
Due to construction's proximity to Lake Mulwala, environmental protection measures were a key project consideration. Works included installation of a silt curtain to minimise sediment migration into the waterway and the use of sheet piling to create a dam wall and dewatering to create a temporary dry work area, enabling safe construction while reducing environmental impacts.
Following completion of the drainage extension, temporary works were removed, the shoreline was reinstated, and the site was restored to its original condition. The project successfully resolved the drainage performance issue while maintaining environmental protection throughout construction.
